Introduction

The Guppy Plastic plants in Malaysia and China are equipped with over 180 state-of-the-art injection machines that range from 50 tonnage to 3000 tonnage machines to cater for different products specifications. As an international player in EMS, CM and OEM for over three decades, our operational principles are anchored in fast turnaround times, flexible and innovative approaches that continuously meet our customer’s needs.

Guppy’s Plastic injection moulding facilities cater for Elastomer and Thermoplastic material. Moreover, our machines are equipped with screw and barrel and are categorized according to material suitability for best process optimization as well as to achieve superior cosmetic appearance for the end product.

Production Floor Space

To constantly meet our customer’s demanding requirement and product criteria, our production floor is equipped with 3 different environments; the ambient environment, air-conditional and clean room. Our air conditional room material conveying system is separated from the external environment to prevent dust contamination.

We have invested overhead cranes for easy mould set-up and safety. To cater for customers that demand fast turnaround times and a low volume of products, we have implemented lean, flexibility system that reduces the time needed to preheat the raw materials; this system is supported by a host of auxiliary equipment that expedite the preheating process.

Machine Tonnage

Our machines range from 50 tonnage to 3000 tonnage machines, and are categorized into the following groups:

  1. Small sized machines for micro and precision moulding, from single to multiple cavities. E.g. stoppers, actuators, gear levers etc.
  2. Medium sized machines for precision, single and multiple moulding. E.g. casing, key pad etc.
  3. Large sized machines for huge parts weighing over 25 kgs.

Machine Capability

We maintain our cutting-edge advantage by investing in new machinery and technology. Many of our machines are equipped with robot arms and conveyor systems for greater process stability. We use dehumidifiers for material preheating to ensure the raw materials’ properties are not deviated through hydrolysis (especially hygroscopic materials).

Our machine capabilities include:

  1. High speed machines enhanced by the nitrogen gas that are specially used for thin wall moulding.
  2. 2K machine in the range of 120 – 200 tonnage, this machine is double barrelled for multi-shot design product.
  3. Dedusting system that ensures all dust particles are filtered our for highly transparent clear cosmetic products.

Tools Fabrication

Our tooling department is made up of experienced designers and programmers who use sophisticated CAD-CAM technology to turn plastic design conceptions into reality. We have full scale state-of-the-art facilities for CNC, EDM, wire-cut, together with other basic machinery to ensure high quality and reliable moulds suitable for mass production.

Our flexible manufacturing applies the Erowa system to shorten possible re-setting times when switching from one variant to another to increase productivity as well as to reduce wastage. This ensures that our customers always gain tooling competitiveness in the market with respect to lead-times, technology and pricing.

Guppy Plastic is capable of fabricating high precision moulds of up to 0.02 mm within a short lead-time. We are well versed with hot runner, unscrew tooling, multi-shot for 2K moulding designed to meet the demands of our customers in different industries.

Secondary Process

Our secondary processed is flexible and customer-driven operations that play a vital role in enhancing the appearance of our end products. We strictly abide by inspection criteria including tape tests and chemical tests for the printing and spraying processes to ensure consistency.

We have special decoration core unit for our secondary operation processes that offer the following services:

  • Manual / auto silk screening
  • Tampo / pad printing
  • Cold / hot stick
  • Hot plate / thermal welding
  • Ultrasonic / vibration welding
  • Auto/Manual Spraying (PP spray, UV spray & EMS Spray)
  • Assembly / Box built assembly / Module assembly

Guppy Plastic value added engineering team bring decades of experience and know how to the table to offer our customers unrivalled expertise and professionalism. Our groups of engineers are fully trained and knowledgeable in the requirements of the numerous industries we serve.

Our team can take on simple layout plans to DFM, Mould Flow Analysis and Prototyping, implemented during NPI phase to ensure production feasibility and within set budgets. We are committed to meeting our customers cost saving plans from delivery system, packaging, tooling modification, second sourcing etc.

Material Application

Guppy Plastic provides a full range of plastic suitable for various applications, consisting of thermoplastic and elastomer. We also support the needs for different color requirements from bulk quantity to small size volume by external compounding and internal dry blending with pigment or masterbatch.

We practice environment procurement to ensure our resins and colorants are RoHS compliant.
